A rumble of thunder from a storm over 50 miles away over the irish sea from an mcs during july 2016. The atmospheric conditions of that night, along with the lack of other noise allowed sounds to be heard much further than they normally would. The main reason was likely due to a strong temperature inversion close to the ground. Recorded with zoom h4n onboard mics.

Car horn honking like a guy stuck in traffic (which i know all too well). Two versions of irritation. Recorded using a audio technica at891r with a scarlett solo preamp then cleaned up using izotope rx8 advanced to remove some ambient noise. No need to credit if you don't want to. Recorded while on a walk in myneighborhood. Washed up on the street was amixture of sand, rocks, and loose gravel. In the background a bug can be heard that i wasunfortunately unable to edit out, but i hope its ok. (re-uploaded because i forgot to trim unwanted audio sections). -----. Recorded this on a sunny evening at the cote d'azur, near toulon. Two iphones approx 4 meteres apart (it was all that i had). Syncronized and merged to a stereo-wave in reaper. The moderate waves move the stones of the beach and create an awesome sound. It was practically windstill, so i did not use a lowcut. Enjoy and tell me if you use it! that would be awesome.

This is a high-quality stereo recording of the ambient noises inside of a quiet swiss train wagon while travelling at high speed (around 200km/h). You can hear:- how the wagon rolls on the tracks. - the squeaks and cracks of the wagon. - very faint voices from other passengers in the same wagon.

I went to a spot where traffic will slow down, stop and take off and drive at 60kms during peak. 4am on 7th june 2015 in the small rural town of charbury in the cotswolds, uk. At about 3 min 45 sec my neighbour's central heating clicks in for a minute. An aeroplane can be heard in the distance from 7 min 30 secchurch bells strike 4am at 8 min 26 sec. Recorded with a stereo pair of akg c1000s mics into a motu8 audio interface. No eq or other processing.

Recorded on june 29, 2012 near the exit at webster's department store. This features how the checkout area at websters sounded from june 2012 untill its closing on november 3, 2015. This is part of a pack of 4k sounds recorded over 17 years commemorating my friend's department store which she owned. It showcases how the sounds in the store have changed over the years as the technology of teh store changes. Each recording is done within a week after the cash registers are upgraded. As of the date of this posting, webster's is now closed, and will re-open as a walmart in january of 2016.

This was recorded in the centre of oxford, near the junction between broad street and turl street, on 23rd february 2013. I was facing west along broad street with turl street, and the pavement, to my left. There are many different sounds on this recording including bikes being parked (i was standing near a bike rack) and ridden, cars lurking for a parking space, dropping people off and turning round (broad street has a car park in the middle of it), plenty of different people walking past and talking, and a big issue seller. There is the occasional bit of wind noise, but not as much as i'd feared (luckily the wind was behind me). Recorded with a marantz pmd661 with built-in microphones.

It was raining one night so i used a sony px720 digital voice recorder to catch some hopefully cool atmospheric type sounds. I placed the recorder next to my apartment window and stepped away for a few minutes. My window is situated right next to a rain-gutter so you hear the rain hitting the pavement along with the rain flowing down the gutter. You also hear four different cars drive by during the recording. Well that's about it hopefully these sounds are of some use to people.

I went out to the lake to record some ducks. This day they weren’t squawking as much as i’d hoped, but the wind was calmer than it normally is, and the wind really is your biggest enemy when making outdoor recordings like these. But overall, the recording isn’t bad. The ducks are smallish black ones with white beaks called the american coot. Lots of tweeting birds in there too, especially the first half, and i think those are just the normal small sparrows that you see everywhere. Couple people chatting, but they’re way in the distance. Springtime in greenacres, washington. The birds are singing loudly, the wind is blowing, traffic can be heard in the distance, and an airplane flies overhead. Also heard is a distant train horn, a next door rooster, and a distant horn signalling break time at the paper mill.

Since i was walking in the riaza river gorges i saw a lot of ants on the remains of an animal. I put over a pair of contact mics trying not to disturb to the ants. Maybe the sound you can hear in this audio is produced by the ants eating or the. "hoces del río riaza" natural park (segovia) / 2010-09-04 11:00.

Just a small creak from the chair in the office of a whalewatching captain i was interviewing. A bit of ambient noise. Not much of a contribution, i know, but i've been using little creaks such as this to recreate the sound of a 15th-century sailing ship, so thought it might come in useful for someone somewhere.

This is the interval crowd from the play blithe spirit that ran at the basin theatre in 2019. They've all had a good laugh and their about to go back into the theatre and have some more.
